The gluteas maximus is located in the buttocks, it is regarded as one of the strongest muscles in the body. This muscle is responsible for movement of the hip and thigh. It is the larger outermost of the three gluteal muscles and makes up a large part of the shape and appearance of each side of the hips.
This large muscle in the human body is connected to the trunk keeping the body in the erect posture.
Glutes are often considered to be a symbol of health and strength, and to be aesthetically appealing.
